Rooted didn’t start as an app or just a random idea.
It started with real questions.
Questions that I had as a kid, teen and adult.
Questions my clients were asking me.
Questions parents whispered because they were afraid they were the only ones.
Questions teenagers searched online because they didn't know who else to ask.
After years of hearing the same questions over and over again, I realized people didn't just need information.
They needed somewhere to turn.
That's how Rooted began

I don't think I decided to create Rooted one day.I don't think I decided to create Rooted one day.
I think I unintentionally created it over the course of my lifetime.
Growing up, there were so many things I had to navigate on my own. Childhood abuse. Not having a trusted adult to talk to. Depression and suicidal thoughts. Breakups. Peer pressure. Learning about relationships, boundaries, and becoming a mother without much of a village.
There were so many moments when I wished someone had simply told me the truth—without shame, without judgment, and without making me feel like I was asking the wrong question.
Then I spent the next ten years working in the mental health field.
I sat with children, teens, adults, and families through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Teens asked me questions they didn't feel safe asking anyone else. Parents told me they wanted to do better than they were taught but didn't know where to start. Again and again, I watched people trying to break generational patterns without the tools or support they needed.
That's when I realized something.
There are incredible resources in the world, and there are people desperately searching for them—but too often, they never find each other.
I also realized I had something to offer.
Not because I have all the answers, but because I've lived through many of the questions, spent years helping others navigate theirs, and know how overwhelming it can feel when you don't know your next step.
At first, Rooted was going to be about making sex education more accessible and more honest.
But the deeper I went, the more I realized something important.
You can't make healthy decisions if you don't understand boundaries.
You can't set healthy boundaries if you don't know your worth.
You can't build healthy relationships if you've never been shown what one looks like.
And parents can't teach what they were never taught.
Rooted became so much bigger than sex education.
It became a place for the conversations that shape a person's life.
A place where parents can find practical guidance.
A place where teens and young adults can ask the questions they're afraid to ask out loud.
A place where honest answers replace shame, fear, and silence.
My hope is that Rooted feels like the safe adult you can carry in your back pocket—offering real, age-appropriate information, practical next steps, and trusted resources when you need them most.
Because no one should have to navigate life's hardest questions alone.
Welcome to Rooted. 🌱

I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Psychology and spent nearly 10 years working in the mental health field, supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families through some of life's most difficult moments.
Throughout my career, I've worked in community mental health, crisis intervention, family therapy, and behavioral health, helping people navigate trauma, relationships, parenting, emotional well-being, and life transitions. I've also completed more than 9,500 hours of direct clinical work, giving me the opportunity to hear thousands of stories, answer countless difficult questions, and witness both the challenges and resilience of the people I served.
Those experiences shaped the way I approach Rooted.
I believe education should be practical, honest, evidence-informed, and easy to understand. Whether I'm talking about body safety, boundaries, mental health, relationships, or parenting, my goal is always the same: to help people feel informed, empowered, and supported, not judged.
Rooted combines professional knowledge with real-life experience to create resources that meet families where they are and help them navigate life's everyday questions with confidence.
